Limitations, interaction, and building something together – Vlog 168 (blocked by YouTube and record labels)

by Bob Reynolds Get exclusive music

The four musicians I reference in the vlog episode below inspired me so much they changed the course of my life.

In this video I distill some important musical lessons I learned from their collaboration.

YouTube blocked it on behalf of WMG (a big record label) because I included some samples from the Nonesuch (a WMG subsidiary label) YouTube channel.

Basically, I made an unsolicited commercial singing their praises and encouraging you to listen to their music—past and present. It was taken down after 25 views.

Interesting that while I used only excerpt clips, I didn’t include a single second from any of the artists’ released albums. I’m using any musical examples only as evidence and examples.

Yet a quick search on YT for full songs/albums of these artists will reveal plenty of random uploads by people other than the artists or labels.

Go figure. ????????‍♂️

It was a bummer to put the time and effort into this and then have it blocked, but I’m happy you’ve found your way to this page. I hope you enjoy the video.

And go get Moodswing and their new album Round Again! 🙂
